Kristo Asafo Mission reaffirms Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena I as new leader

The Kristo Asafo Mission of Ghana has reaffirmed Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena I as the new leader of the church following the death of its founder, Apostle Emeritus Dr Kwadwo Safo Kantanka. This historic ceremony marked a significant step in the church's succession plan, as outlined by the late founder.

A New Leader Emerges

The National Joint Intercessory Prayer Service, held under the theme "Intercessory Prayer to Mark the Birth Month of Our Founder As He Rests in His Glory," brought together members of the Mission to remember the founder and pray for the continued progress of the church. The event was a poignant moment for the church, as it came to terms with the loss of its beloved leader.

The Succession Plan Unfolds

According to the Kristo Asafo Mission, the selection of Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena I as the new leader was carried out by the council of elders in line with the succession arrangement left by the late founder. The arrangement required the council to choose one of the founder's three sons to lead the Mission. Speaking at the prayer service, Public Relations Officer Akwesi Ofori explained the process: "When you look into the books, the founder mentioned that when he is not around, the council of the church should select any of his three sons to be the leader of the church."

Support for the New Leader

Mr Ofori acknowledged that choosing a new leader was not an easy task for the council, but praised their decision: "I think the council did very well. Selecting the new leader was not an easy task for the council. But with good counsel, they were able to come out with Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena I." He urged members of the Mission to rally behind the new leader and support his vision for the continued growth of the church.

A New Era for the Kristo Asafo Mission

The selection of Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena I marks a significant turning point for the Kristo Asafo Mission, as it embarks on a new chapter under the leadership of the founder's son. As the church looks to the future, it is clear that the legacy of Apostle Emeritus Dr Kwadwo Safo Kantanka will continue to shape its path. With the support of its members, the new leader is poised to take the Mission to new heights, building on the foundation laid by his father.
