A 24-year-old man, Kofi Yena, popularly known as “Pogba”, allegedly used a pair of scissors to kill Augustine Boah in a land dispute at Achiase, near Aboso in the Prestea Huni Valley Municipality of the Western Region, on Thursday, August 20, 2026.
The incident has left the community in shock, with the families of the two men now at odds over the dispute.
Fatal Confrontation in Land Dispute
According to accounts emerging from the area, the disagreement had been brewing for some time. The latest confrontation was reportedly triggered by an earlier warning from Yena to the deceased's son over the use of a route behind his family's house with his tricycle.
The issue allegedly resurfaced on Thursday when Boah and Yena confronted each other, leading to a physical altercation.
Investigation Underway
Following the incident, Yena was arrested and taken into police custody as the police commenced investigations into the death. The circumstances surrounding the confrontation and what immediately preceded the alleged stabbing remain subject to police investigation.
The body of Boah has been deposited at the morgue of the Tarkwa Municipal Hospital pending further procedures.
