The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has appointed James Agalga as the new Majority Leader, with the appointment taking immediate effect. The formal notification was made to Speaker of Parliament Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin in a letter dated Monday, August 24, 2026, signed by NDC General Secretary Fifi Fiavi Kwetey.

The decision to appoint Agalga as Majority Leader followed consultations between the party's leadership and the Presidency.
