Foreign Ministry repatriates nearly 7,000 distressed Ghanaians since 2025 – Ablakwa

Ghana has brought back 6,936 citizens from overseas danger zones and difficult conditions since 2025. Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa disclosed the figure following a series of airlifts and diplomatic operations across several continents.

The total includes 4,972 Ghanaians brought home from nations such as Libya, Cambodia, and Kuwait. A further 1,964 citizens arrived recently from South Africa, bringing the cumulative total close to 7,000.

Ablakwa shared the complete figures in a social media update on Tuesday, September 8, following a press briefing held the previous day.
