The Western Regional Minister, Joseph Nelson, visited the Karadeniz Powership Osman Khan in Takoradi to see how Karpowership Ghana supports the country’s electricity supply. The floating power-generation facility is part of efforts to keep Ghana’s national grid stable.
During the visit, Nelson and his team learned about the technology and processes behind Karpowership’s operations. They toured the Powership and discussed how the company maintains its power generation activities. Nelson also spoke with the Karpowership team about their presence in the Western Region and the company’s broader impact on local communities.
Nelson praised Karpowership’s operational standards and its role in Ghana’s power sector. He said reliable and efficient power generation is important for the country’s economic growth. “Karpowership’s operations demonstrate the important role that reliable and efficient power generation plays in supporting Ghana’s economic development,” he said. He added that he was pleased to see the professionalism at the facility and the company’s engagement in the Western Region.
The visit also included a briefing on Karpowership Ghana’s community projects. These cover education, youth development, environmental sustainability, and general support for local communities. These efforts reflect the company’s approach to working alongside the people where it operates.
Sandra Amarquaye, Corporate Communications Manager at Karpowership Ghana, said the company values its relationship with government and stakeholders. “We are honoured to have welcomed the Western Regional Minister to our Powership and to have had the opportunity to demonstrate the work that goes into supporting Ghana’s power supply,” she said. Amarquaye emphasised that stakeholder engagement means building understanding and strong partnerships, not just communication.
She added that Karpowership remains focused on supplying reliable power to the national grid and meeting Ghana’s power generation needs.
