Richard Ernest Kirk-Mensah wants to continue as the National Democratic Congress’s Western Regional Communications Officer, urging party delegates to renew his mandate. He says his experience and focus on communication, party unity, and grassroots mobilisation helped the NDC secure 15 of the 17 parliamentary seats in the Western Region in the last elections.
Kirk-Mensah runs on the slogan "Communicate. Engage. Mobilize." He describes this as a plan to improve information flow, deepen member interaction, and build a more connected party across the region.
He argues effective communication is essential to linking party leadership with constituency executives, grassroots members, and supporters. “Stronger communication channels ensure that the party’s activities, policies and messages reach members at all levels in a timely and effective manner,” his campaign message states.
Kirk-Mensah wants to move beyond simply sharing information. He says the goal is to foster understanding and encourage continuous interaction between leadership and the grassroots. He calls for listening to members and promoting their participation as part of building collective responsibility.
Party unity and grassroots mobilisation are central to his campaign. He believes well-informed and engaged members are better positioned to collaborate towards common objectives and contribute to organisational development.
His approach calls for stronger collaboration between regional leadership, constituency executives, and grassroots structures. Under the theme "A Greater Western Region," he seeks to connect effective party organisation with the broader aspirations of communities across the region.
Kirk-Mensah sees a coordinated communication strategy as a way to sustain engagement with the people the NDC aims to represent and deepen its ties to those communities.
His three pillars—Communicate, Engage, and Mobilize—are linked. He expects improved communication to drive engagement and translate into collective action.
Beyond politics, Kirk-Mensah brings experience from public service, disaster management, corporate communication, and entrepreneurship. He worked as a Senior Officer at the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) in the Western Region from June 2013 to 2025. He then became Head of Communications at Ghana National Gas Company.
Since June 2006, he has been CEO of Kirk-Komm Ventures.
Academically, he holds two Master of Science degrees from the University of Cape Coast: one in Oil and Gas Management (2015–16) and another in Crisis, Emergency and Disaster Management (2013–15). He is currently pursuing a master's in Strategic Public Relations at the University of Media, Arts and Communication.
Kirk-Mensah says his professional and academic background supports his focus on strategic communication, stakeholder engagement, and organisational coordination.
As the NDC prepares for its regional executive elections, he is appealing to delegates to retain him. His priorities for a new term include strengthening communication structures, promoting party unity, deepening grassroots engagement, and improving mobilisation across the Western Region.
The campaign hinges on the principle that an informed and actively engaged membership forms the backbone of effective party organisation.
Kirk-Mensah’s case for another mandate is straightforward: to build a more united, connected, and mobilised NDC in the Western Region.
