Less than 20km of clearing left to connect Accra-Kumasi Expressway to Kumasi – Agbodza

The Minister for Roads and Highways, Governs Kwame Agbodza, has announced that less than 20 kilometres of clearing work remains on the Accra-Kumasi Expressway before the project reaches Kumasi. The expressway, which has been making significant progress, is now only a short stretch away from connecting with the Kumasi Orbiter, also known as the Kumasi Ring Road.

Contractor Back on Site

Kofi Job Construction Limited, the contractor on the project, has returned to site and is making progress on the expressway. The Minister, Governs Kwame Agbodza, expressed confidence that the remaining works would be completed. The contractor is nearing completion of one section of the road before moving to the other side.

Asantehene's Support for Road Development

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has been a key supporter of road infrastructure development in the Kumasi enclave. The Minister acknowledged the Asantehene's guidance and support, stating that he had previously stressed the need to complete roads around the area to facilitate the operationalisation of the Sewua Hospital. The hospital is expected to serve as a regional hospital for Kumasi.

Ghana Armed Forces Support Clearing Exercise

The Ghana Armed Forces have been providing support during the clearing exercise on the expressway. The Minister expressed appreciation for their assistance, which has been instrumental in the progress made so far.

The progress on the Accra-Kumasi Expressway is a significant development for the people of Kumasi and the wider Ashanti Region.
