African Most Beautiful USA Queen to host Community Zumba Dance session in Accra

Ama Kwakye, the reigning African Most Beautiful USA Queen and certified Zumba instructor, will host a free Zumba dance session in Accra on Saturday, October 3, 2026. The event, called “Zumba with Ama,” will take place at the Dansoman Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Before the dance session, there will be a five-kilometre run at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium that same morning.

Kwakye is also the founder of AmaKaye, a wellness brand that promotes healthy living. She told Accra Posts that the event aims to create a space where people can enjoy music, movement, and social interaction while improving their physical and mental health. “Dance remains one of the most effective ways of bringing people together irrespective of age, fitness level or background,” she said.

The Ghanaian American entrepreneur said the Zumba and run are designed to help participants relieve stress, build social connections, and experience the benefits of exercise in a fun and engaging way. Her approach is built around the philosophy “Workouts Heal You,” which guides her lifestyle and wellness brand.

Kwakye has used her platform as a beauty queen to promote confidence, wellness, and purposeful living. This event reflects her belief that entertainment and wellness can work together to improve quality of life and strengthen community ties. She hopes the initiative will encourage more people, especially women and young people, to add physical activity to their daily routines.

As a Ghanaian American visiting Accra, Kwakye said she is excited to reconnect with local communities. She said the event is expected to attract fitness enthusiasts, young people, and members of the public looking for healthy recreational activities.

The morning run at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium will kick off the day’s activities. Later, participants will gather at the Dansoman Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for the dance session. Both events are free and open to the public.

Kwakye’s work adds to a growing number of wellness initiatives in Accra that focus on accessible fitness and community involvement. Her dual role as an entrepreneur and a certified Zumba instructor gives her a platform to reach diverse audiences.

By combining running and dance, Kwakye is offering options that appeal to different fitness levels and interests. The events provide opportunities for people to connect physically and socially in ways that don’t require expensive gym memberships or equipment.

This approach reflects a practical understanding of how exercise fits into everyday life for many Ghanaians. It also echoes broader trends in wellness that emphasize movement as a path to better mental and physical health.

The “Zumba with Ama” session and the 5K run will run on the same day, offering a full morning of activity. Kwakye’s presence in Accra and her commitment to these events show how she is using her influence to support healthier lifestyles at home.

The event promises to be a lively gathering that combines fitness, music, and community spirit in one place.
