This is not a victory for an individual or group - NPP's 1st National Vice Chairman

Kojo Fosu Boadu, known as Kojo Bamba, has pledged unity and collective effort after his election as the New Patriotic Party’s First National Vice Chairman. The announcement came in a statement released on Monday, 5 October 2026, where Boadu thanked delegates for placing their trust in him.

“I accept this responsibility with humility and a firm commitment to serve all members of the NPP,” Boadu wrote. He emphasized the election result as a collective achievement, saying, “This is not a victory for one individual or group; it is a victory for our entire party.”

The new First National Vice Chairman urged party members to set aside differences and work together. “Now, more than ever, we must unite. Let us put our differences aside, heal where necessary, strengthen our bonds, and work together as one family,” he said. Boadu stressed that the party’s strength depends on unity and common purpose.

He called on every member, leader, delegate, and supporter to join hands in rebuilding and reorganizing the party to prepare for future elections. “Together, we are stronger. Together, we will move the NPP forward. Together, we shall win,” he added.

Boadu concluded his statement by thanking the delegates again and signaling the start of his tenure. “Thank you for believing in me. The work begins now.”

The NPP’s internal elections come amid a period of political contestation and strategic regrouping ahead of upcoming national polls. Boadu’s appeal for unity reflects ongoing efforts within the party to consolidate support and present a cohesive front.

His message arrives as many political parties in Ghana prepare for the 2028 general elections, with internal leadership battles shaping their trajectories. The NPP leadership elections were closely watched, given the party’s role as one of the country’s two dominant political forces.

Boadu’s call for healing and collaboration suggests a recognition of existing tensions within the party ranks. Whether his tenure will ease factional divides remains to be seen, but the tone of his statement points to an urgent need for solidarity.

The next steps for the NPP under Boadu’s vice chairmanship will unfold as the party moves into a critical phase of candidate selection and campaign planning. The emphasis on unity and collective action signals a strategic priority for the party’s leadership team.

Kojo Fosu Boadu’s election and immediate message offer a window into the party’s internal dynamics at a moment when Ghana’s political landscape is sharpening toward the next election cycle. His words reflect the challenges and expectations placed on party officials in steering their base through a competitive environment.
