General Corporal Robert Katey Koranteng stood before the Adabraka District Court on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, charged with murder after allegedly kicking a moving motorbike on the motorway and killing a 20-year-old law student.

The 34-year-old police officer was stationed at the Traffic Management Enforcement Unit at the Police Headquarters in Accra. Prosecutors have accused him of unlawfully causing the death of Ivan Apprey Baidoo under Section 46 of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29).

Baidoo, a student at Central University, died on August 27, 2026, after the motorbike he was travelling on crashed into a concrete barrier during a police chase.
