Major General Ba-Taa-Banah urges media to help promote peace, stability

The Director of the Ghana National Counter Terrorism Fusion Centre, Major General Timothy Ba-Taa-Banah, has called on media practitioners to use their influence to help the public understand and fulfil civic responsibilities toward maintaining peace and stability.

He said the media remains a critical partner of the national security architecture because of its capacity to reach local communities, shape public conversation, and give early warnings about developments that could threaten national peace.

Major General Ba-Taa-Banah made the call at Dumesua, near Sunyani in the Bono Region. He spoke during a one-day media engagement organised by the National Security Council Secretariat.

The engagement was held under the theme "Broadcasting Peace: Responsible Journalism for National Development." It was designed to promote responsible, accurate, and peace-sensitive
