Two teachers from Obuasi Senior High Technical School have been remanded into police custody for allegedly inciting students to attack the school's headmaster. Kwasi Brefo, 41, and Joseph Appiah Arthur, 34, appeared before the Obuasi Circuit Court on Tuesday, August 11, 2026.

The court has charged the two teachers with two counts of abetment under the Criminal and Other Offences Act, 1960. Obuasi District Commander, Superintendent Mahama Iddrisu, had earlier told JoyNews that the two suspects were among three teachers arrested following a complaint from the headmaster.

The court has ordered the two teachers to reappear on August 17, 2026, after a one-week remand in police custody.
