Mandoumbe Diop's lawyer, Abdy Nar Ndiaye, described his client's posts as comical and said they did not merit criminal prosecution. However, the court disagreed, sentencing Diop to three months in prison. Diaw and Ndiaye were each fined 500,000 CFA ($800).
