Arrival teams stationed at the airport and train station in Yekaterinburg are handing flowers to incoming delegates alongside traditional offerings of bread and salt. The reception marks the opening phase of check-in for the International Youth Festival.
Organisers announced that attendees from 47 countries have already entered the city and completed their arrival procedures. The rest of the international contingent is expected to reach Yekaterinburg on 11 and 12 September.
Grigory Gurov, the head of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs, provided the update during a press conference in Yekaterinburg. The briefing was held to present the festival programme and announce the formal opening of the event.
