The National Youth Authority (NYA) brought together staff and representatives from various agencies for an Inter-Agency Football Gala at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, as part of activities marking this year's National Youth Month celebration.
The event featured a range of activities, including football, sack race, table tennis, oware, cards, ludo, sack race, scrabble, and lime and spoon. However, it was the football competition that stole the show, with the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) emerging as champions after a closely contested final.

The football competition was the highlight of the event, with the YEA beating the NYA 4-2 on penalties. The final was a closely contested match, with both teams showing impressive skills and determination.
Unity and Engagement at the Forefront
Speaking on the initiative, NYA Deputy CEO Inusah Mahama said the competition forms part of activities marking this year's National Youth Month celebration. He emphasized the importance of unity and engagement among the youth, stating that the event is part of the NYA's continued efforts to promote these values.
"We're organizing this competition as part of National Youth Month," he said. "It is one of the responsibilities of the National Youth Authority to organize National Youth Month, and we have a lot of activities lined up." Mahama listed some of the other events planned for the month, including the National Youth Celebration at KNUST in Kumasi, the Youth Parliament, and the Intergenerational Dialogue.
Looking Ahead to the Celebrations
The Inter-Agency Football Gala is just one of the many events planned for the National Youth Month celebration. On Tuesday, the Youth Parliament will take place, and on Thursday, the Intergenerational Dialogue will be held. The celebrations will culminate at Independence Square with the National Youth Celebration.
The National Youth Authority's efforts to promote youth engagement, unity, and active living are commendable, and the Inter-Agency Football Gala is a testament to the organization's commitment to these values. As the celebrations continue throughout the month, it will be interesting to see how the events unfold and what impact they will have on the youth of Ghana.
