The New Patriotic Party's Northern Region has retained Mohammed Baantima Samba as its regional chairman after a decisive victory in the party's regional executive elections. Samba polled 215 votes to defeat Amadu Inusah, who obtained 122 votes out of the 387 valid votes cast.
New Regional Executives Elected
The delegates also elected several other executives to lead the party's regional structure. Ayamba Yelmagli was elected as the First Vice Chairman, while Dr Abdul Rahman Karim Kpala took the position of Regional Secretary. Bediako Jeremiah won the Deputy Secretary position, with Husseini Abubakari Saddiq elected Treasurer.
Focus on 2028 Elections
In his acceptance speech, Samba said the election had given him a clear mandate to continue leading the party in the region and prepare its structures for the 2028 elections. He thanked the delegates for renewing their confidence in his leadership and acknowledged that the mandate came with the responsibility to work harder to strengthen the party.
