Dr. Gideon Boako has defended the economic record of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, stating that Bawumia developed a structural solution to a currency crisis that has affected Ghana since the First Republic.
Speaking on The Point of View on Citi TV, Boako addressed long-running national debates over foreign exchange stability, inflation, interest rates, and national reserves.
Boako said that Bawumia's claim during the first term of the Akufo-Addo administration that the depreciation of the cedi had been arrested was fully valid at the time.
He argued that early economic management under the administration successfully slowed down the drop in currency value before major external economic shocks altered global markets.
