Public basic schools across Ghana will receive their long-overdue 2023 Capitation Grant money before the first term of the 2026/2027 academic year begins.
The Ghana Education Service sent a formal letter dated September 14, 2026, to all Regional Directors of Education, confirming that the funds have been transferred to district accounts.
District Education Directorates must now pay out the arrears directly to individual public primary and junior high schools across the country.
In the official letter, the Ghana Education Service confirmed the completion of the bank transfers to the district level.
“Management of Ghana Education Service wishes to inform you that Capitation Grant arrears for 2023 have been transferred to the various accounts of the District Education Directorates for onward disbursement
