From Friday to Sunday last week, the Junction Mall in Nungua became a hub for people chasing the dream of owning a home. The Republic Bank-JoyNews Habitat Fair Clinic wrapped up after three days packed with activities, talks, and exhibitions focused on housing in Ghana.
The event pulled in a crowd that included prospective homeowners, property investors, developers, and suppliers from across Ghana’s housing sector. Visitors moved between exhibition stands exploring options in property development, mortgage financing, building materials, home security, renewable energy, and electric vehicles. The fair was more than a marketplace. It was a chance to ask questions directly to experts, compare financing plans, and get practical advice on buying or building a home.
Mortgage financing was a major theme throughout the weekend. Republic Bank Ghana officials were on hand to talk with attendees about their financing options and the requirements to secure a property loan. This drew a lot of interest from people hoping to understand how to fund their purchase or investment.
The fair also reflected the changing needs of homeowners today. Alongside traditional construction and property services, exhibitors presented solutions for home security and renewable energy. Electric vehicle providers and home improvement companies also had stands. This mix of services showed how the modern homeowner’s concerns go beyond just the structure of their home.
Companies that took part included Republic Bank Ghana, Drive EV GH, Virtual Security Africa, Akwaaba Building Materials, Lesh Fortune Ltd., DoorMaster, Interplast, Ayuda Hub, Western Vilas, Ctechi Ghana Ltd., Saint-Gobain Weber Ghana, Velo West Africa, ATBS Ltd., Waylead Company Ghana Ltd., Translight Solar, and Nestas Home Ltd.
The fair opened on Friday, September 25, and the strong turnout from the first day only grew over the weekend. Saturday saw even more visitors interacting with exhibitors, exploring offers, and seeking advice on all aspects of homeownership, from buying and building to furnishing and upgrading properties.
By Sunday, the fair had become a meeting place for individuals at various stages in their housing journey. Some were still exploring options, others were active investors, and some were homeowners looking for ways to improve their properties.
JoyNews organised the event in partnership with Republic Bank Ghana, which acted as the title sponsor. While the fair ended at Junction Mall, the conversations about housing finance, property investment, construction, security, energy, and homeownership are expected to continue.
