Two people died after a crash involving a Hyundai H100 bus and a Ford tractor on the Kpetoe-Sarakope section of the Accra-Aflao Highway on Saturday, September 26, 2026.
The two vehicles were travelling from Kpetoe towards Aflao when they collided. The Hyundai H100 was carrying 12 passengers, while the Ford tractor had two occupants. Firefighters from the Kpetoe Fire Station rescued all 14 people and handed them over to personnel from the National Ambulance Service and the Ghana Police Service.
The injured were taken to the Ho Teaching Hospital for treatment. At the hospital, one male and one female passenger were confirmed dead.
The Ghana National Fire Service urged drivers to be careful on the road, avoid improper overtaking, and follow road safety rules to reduce accidents and save lives.
The accident adds to ongoing concerns about road safety on Ghana’s highways, where collisions involving commercial vehicles and tractors have caused injuries and deaths in the past. The authorities continue to call on motorists to drive responsibly.
