The Academic Talent Development Programme (ATDP) and The Art Peeps have donated art and craft supplies to the Paediatric Unit at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC). The donation includes canvases, easels, paints, and other materials to help children receiving treatment engage in creative activities during their hospital stay.
This gift fulfills a promise made during The Art Peeps Young Artists Exhibition and Auction held in August 2026. The organisers aim to give young patients a chance to paint, draw, and take part in other art forms while admitted to the hospital. They believe these activities will help create a more supportive and engaging environment for the children.
The Executive Director of ATDP said the donation reflects their focus on using art not just for education and creativity but also for wellbeing and community impact. The materials will allow children to explore their creativity under the guidance of caregivers and hospital staff, offering opportunities for age-appropriate art and craft activities.
