Abubakar Sedik returned to Mankranso from an official government meeting in Kumasi on Sunday evening, 20th September, 2026, fell ill shortly after arriving home, and died.
His sudden death took place only hours after he sat down with local government leaders to discuss regional infrastructure projects.
Sedik was serving as the District Chief Executive for Ahafo Ano South West in the Ashanti Region at the time of his passing.
Earlier on Sunday, Sedik traveled from Mankranso to Kumasi to attend a stakeholder meeting.
The meeting in Kumasi was convened by Mahama Ayariga, the Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs.
Ayariga met with local government officials and regional stakeholders to engage them on the Kejetia Phase
