Lawyers for former presidential legal counsel Kow Abaka Essuman have given Finance Minister Dr Cassiel Ato Forson until Friday, September 11, 2026, to pay outstanding salary arrears and terminal benefits owed to their client. Failure to meet the deadline will result in court action against the State to recover the money, accrued commercial interest, and legal costs.

The formal demand came in a letter dated September 8, 2026, sent directly to Dr Forson at the Ministry of Finance. The correspondence details the terms of Mr Essuman’s service at Jubilee House and sets out the specific financial settlements that remain unpaid twenty months after he left office.
