Dr Mahamudu Bawumia brought the newly elected Ashanti Regional executives of the New Patriotic Party into his Accra office for a closed door meeting focused on party unity. The delegation arrived under the leadership of Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, the party's new regional chairman who is widely known as COKA.

The meeting forms part of a broader series of discussions the former Vice President and presidential candidate is holding across the country. Bawumia is meeting regional executives as the party completes its internal elections and turns its focus toward the 2028 general elections.

In the Accra meeting, Bawumia directed the new regional executives to reach out to defeated candidates and opposing factions within the region. He stated that internal party elections are over and that full inclusion is required for the party to compete effectively in upcoming national races.
