Six Senior High Schools have moved on to the quarter-finals of the 2026 National Investment Quiz after intense preliminary rounds that tested their grasp of investment, savings, and financial concepts.
Our Lady of Mercy Senior High School (OLAMS), Aggrey Memorial A.M.E. Zion SHS, Mfantsipim School, Wesley Girls’ High School, Apam SHS, and St. John’s Grammar School secured the top spots to advance.
In the first preliminary contest, Aggrey Memorial A.M.E. Zion SHS led with 45 points, narrowly edging out OLAMS, which scored 44 points. Adisadel College followed closely with 43.5 points, while Kumasi High School finished with 37. Despite Aggrey Memorial taking the top spot, OLAMS also qualified for the next stage.
Mfantsipim School achieved the highest overall score in the preliminary rounds, finishing the second contest with 59 points. Wesley Girls’ High School came in second with 44 points, followed by Corpus Christi School at 41 points and St. Louise Senior High School at 36 points. Mfantsipim and Wesley Girls’ secured their places in the quarter-finals.
The third contest saw St. John’s Grammar School top the leaderboard with 34 points. Apam SHS followed with 32 points, and Accra Academy scored 31 points. University Practice SHS finished fourth with 27 points. St. John’s Grammar and Apam SHS moved forward to the quarter-final stage.
These six schools will now face off against eight seeded schools in the next round. The seeded schools are St. Augustine’s College, West Africa Senior High School, Opoku Ware School, Adonten Senior High School, Presbyterian Boys’ Secondary School (PRESEC), Legon, Prempeh College, Wesley Grammar School, and Mawuko Girls’ Senior High School.
The competition, overseen by Quiz Master Godson Nukunya, challenges students on speed, accuracy, and knowledge of financial and investment principles. The National Investment Quiz aims to boost financial literacy among Senior High School students and introduce them to concepts that can help guide their financial decisions.
With the quarter-finals set, the six qualifying schools will test their skills against the seeded teams as the competition intensifies on the road to the 2026 National Investment Quiz championship.
