Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa told African leaders in Angola that the continent is running out of time to build a transformed Africa while normalising conflict and extremism.
Speaking at the African Union Executive Council extraordinary meeting on Conflict Resolution and Prevention, Ablakwa called for an honest introspection into the real causes of instability across the continent.
He demanded an immediate end to treating armed conflict and violent extremism as routine features of African political life.
Leaders must stop managing conflicts after they break out and start confronting the actual conditions that fuel violence, he told delegates in Luanda.
Ablakwa said African leaders must show greater tolerance, compassion, and vision when dealing with domestic grievances and political tension.
