2026 World Congress: It's God's grace for Ghana to host the global congress - Rev Wengam

More than 10,000 delegates will gather in Accra from 14 to 16 October 2026 for the 10th triennial World Assemblies of God Fellowship World Congress.

General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana, Rev. Stephen Wengam, announced the upcoming meeting to church members and international leaders. He called the decision to host the event in Ghana an act of God's grace and urged local members to mobilise for the event.

The October 2026 gathering is the first time Accra hosts the global meeting.

Preparations start with intercessors and international briefings

Rev. Wengam launched preparations in Ghana by opening a national intercessors retreat dedicated to the upcoming congress.

The retreat focused on prayer support across the national church network as Assemblies of God, Ghana, prepares to receive visitors from around the world.

Rev. Wengam also met global church leaders in New York to provide an official briefing on Ghana's readiness.

In New York, he shared updates on the planning process and outlined logistics for accommodating thousands of international visitors in Accra.

He urged all Assemblies of God members across Ghana to mobilise their resources, time, and church groups to support the national hosting effort.

International and local leaders on the speaker list

The official speaker list for the 2026 World Congress includes public figures and international church leaders.

John Dramani Mahama is listed among the speakers scheduled to address delegates in Accra.

Rev. Stephen Wengam will serve as the host for the three-day gathering.

The program includes addresses from Rev. Dominic Yeo and Rev. Doug Clay, both leaders within the international fellowship.

Bishop Dag Heward-Mills is also on the speaker schedule alongside Rev. Juan Carlos Escobar.

These speakers will lead sessions across the three days of the conference between 14 October and 16 October 2026.

A three-year milestone for the Assemblies of God Fellowship

The World Assemblies of God Fellowship holds its World Congress once every three years.

The 2026 meeting in Accra is the 10th triennial gathering of the global Pentecostal body.

Delegates representing national church bodies from every continent plan to attend the sessions in Ghana.

Assemblies of God, Ghana, is managing logistical preparation, venue planning, and delegate reception for the event.

Organisers expect the three-day event to bring over 10,000 registered participants to Accra.

Local church committees continue to meet following the launch of the national intercessors retreat to finalize organization plans before October 2026.
