Ghana defender Marvin Senaya is nearing a return to competitive action as he continues his rehabilitation from a hamstring injury suffered at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The 25-year-old Auxerre player is currently undergoing physical recovery work in France. JoySports reported on August 27 that he is expected to return to match fitness next month.

Senaya sustained the hamstring injury on July 3 during Ghana’s Round of 32 fixture against Colombia. The match took place at the Kansas City Stadium in the United States.

The setback ended his World Cup tournament early. Before he went off injured, Senaya had featured in all four of Ghana's matches at the competition.

Following the match against Colombia, the France-based defender traveled to Paris for medical treatment. He
