Over a 12-month period starting in September 2025, seven African nations sent official state delegations to Accra to study how Ghana regulates and trades its gold.
Officials from Sierra Leone, Mozambique, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Sudan, and Namibia spent time with the Ghana Gold Board to examine the operations behind the GoldBod model.
The visits reflect an effort across the continent to centralise gold regulation, formalise local trading, and keep a larger share of mineral revenue inside national economies.
