Recruit Petty Officer Class 1 Asafo-Agyei Audrey Kantanka stepped forward at the NAVTRAC Parade Square in Nutekpor on Friday, September 25, to receive the Overall Best Recruit award as 346 new sailors finished their initial course. The graduation ceremony marked the end of 26 weeks of physical, academic, and basic military training for the Ghana Navy's Basic Training Intake 85.
The recruits completed their program at the Naval Recruit Training School, which sits within the Naval Training Command in the Volta Region. The school ran the six-month course to transition the civilian trainees into active sailors for the national force.
