Aduana FC held on with 10 men to beat Asante Kotoko 2-0 at Baba Yara Sports Stadium, sealing their first away league win over the Porcupine Warriors since 2021.
The visitors took an early lead when Stephen Amankona scored in the sixth minute. He capitalised on an early chance to put Aduana ahead and set the tone for the match. But Aduana’s challenge grew harder just before half-time when Raymond Agyemang picked up a second yellow card in the 43rd minute, leaving his side a man down for the rest of the game.
Kotoko held the numerical advantage after the break and pushed forward in search of an equaliser. However, Aduana’s defence stayed firm and limited clear chances for the home team. Despite being down to 10 players, Aduana remained a threat on the counterattack.
The win was sealed deep into stoppage time. In the fifth minute of added time, Seidu Saana went on a solo run, beat Kotoko’s goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim, and finished calmly to make it 2-0. That goal ended any hope of a Kotoko comeback.
Aduana coach Samuel Boadu had said before the game that the clash would be difficult but promised the Dormaa fans an “easy game.” The result delivered on that promise, as Aduana picked up their second win of the season after beating Karela United 2-1 at home.
For Kotoko, the defeat marks their first loss of the season. Their coach Eric Tinkler will now prepare the team for a home match against Karela United on Thursday, October 1, 2026, as the league moves into matchweek five.
The victory at Baba Yara will give Aduana confidence in future away fixtures, especially against strong sides like Kotoko, who have been tough to beat on home ground. The win ends a long wait for Aduana fans and shows that they can defend well even when reduced to 10 men.
