A one-goal defeat in Bamako was not what Nations FC planned for, but defender Dennis Korsah insists the Ghanaian FA Cup champions can still save their CAF Confederation Cup campaign. On Saturday, September 5, the club suffered a 1-0 loss to FC Diarra in the first leg of their preliminary round tie at the Stade Mamadou Konaté in Mali.
The result leaves Nations FC trailing on aggregate as they head back home for the return leg. Despite the setback, Korsah remains confident that the squad can overturn the deficit and advance to the next stage.
Korsah admitted that the team fell short of their expectations on foreign soil. He noted that the squad had traveled to Mali intent on securing a better outcome to bring back to Ghana.
