FC Savannah missed a penalty but still held on to top spot in Group A of the 2026 Women’s Super Cup after a goalless draw with Jonina Ladies on matchday two. The Northern Zone side created several chances but could not find the net, while Jonina Ladies, based in Auntie Aku, defended stoutly to deny them.
Their place at the top was sealed when Hasaacas Ladies failed to beat Fosu Royal Ladies in the other Group A match. Hasaacas Ladies, who drew 1-1 with Fosu Royal following a goal they fought hard to earn, had won their opening game 1-0 against Jonina Ladies. Fosu Royal’s point from the draw kept them in the hunt, but Hasaacas’ failure to win meant FC Savannah remained ahead.
In Group B, Epiphany Warriors extended their perfect start with a 4-0 win over Prisons Ladies. Former Hasaacas Ladies defender Akosua Sarfowaa scored twice from free kicks, and Faustina Tiwaa also got on the scoresheet for Epiphany Warriors. Their performance kept them on six points after two matches.
Army Ladies beat Dreamz Ladies 3-1 in the other Group B fixture. That defeat confirmed Dreamz Ladies’ elimination from the tournament, even though they still have one game left to play. Army and Prisons Ladies both have three points each, trailing Epiphany Warriors in the group standings.
The final group matches are scheduled for Sunday, September 27. FC Savannah and Epiphany Warriors will be looking to maintain their lead and secure a place in the knockout stages.
