A MAN fuel tanker carrying 54,000 litres of petrol broke down on the Osubetor Bridge at Tinkong, stopping traffic and triggering an immediate emergency response in the Eastern Region.
The Ghana National Fire Service announced the incident in an official update on its Facebook page, reporting that a suspected mechanical failure left the heavy bulk fuel carrier stranded directly on the bridge structure.
Firefighters dispatched to Osubetor arrived to find the heavy vehicle immobilised across the roadway.
Personnel from the Police Motor Traffic and Transport Department joined the fire crew at the scene to secure the area and establish a perimeter around the stranded tanker.
