Bibiani GoldStars lost 2–0 at home to newly promoted Port City FC, extending their poor start to the Ghana Premier League season. The match on Sunday saw Port City take an early lead through Emmanuel Ntori in the 8th minute, putting immediate pressure on the hosts.
GoldStars tried to respond but struggled to break down the visitors’ defence. Port City doubled their advantage in the 25th minute when Robert Gyamfi scored, giving Christopher Ennin’s side a comfortable lead before halftime.
The two first-half goals were enough for Port City to hold on for a win as GoldStars failed to find a way back into the game during the second half. The visitors maintained their unbeaten run in the top flight with this victory.
Port City now have seven points from three games, sitting third on the league table with two wins and a draw. GoldStars, on the other hand, remain in 16th place after four matches, having won once and lost three times. Their three points put them just two points above bottom-placed Dreams FC.
The former champions were hoping to improve their fortunes at home but instead added to their run of disappointing results on their own ground. The pressure is mounting on GoldStars to reverse their form after another setback in front of their fans.
