Ghana must secure $22.6 billion by 2030 to protect its communities, economy, and physical infrastructure from rising climate risks.
The Environmental Protection Authority established the figure after evaluating the nation's environmental targets and national reports.
Dr Derek Sarfo-Yiadom, a Senior Programme Officer at the EPA’s Climate Change and Ozone Directorate, revealed the amount during a presentation in Accra.
He was speaking at the 2026 Second Extraordinary Session of the Economic Community of West African States Parliament.
"When we put our climate reports together, we came out that we needed $22.6 billion to accomplish our climate actions by the year 2030," Sarfo-Yiadom said.
