The 6th Inter Tourism Expo Organising Committee met with Mr Augustine Tanoh, Presidential Adviser on the 24-Hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development programme, to discuss the upcoming 2026 Inter Tourism Expo set for Cape Coast next October.
The meeting, led by the Expo’s Chairman Emmanuel Treku and CEO Beauty Kabukie Apedoe, focused on linking the event’s goals with Ghana’s 24-hour economic agenda. They explored how tourism could create jobs and attract investment in sectors like agribusiness, industrialisation, digital transformation, and private sector growth.
Mr Tanoh said the 24-Hour Economy Secretariat is ready to support the expo on behalf of the presidency. He asked for details to clarify the secretariat’s role in organising the event.
Mr Treku told the adviser the Expo aims to put Ghana’s tourism potential on display to draw investment that benefits the country. He pointed out that other countries earn large returns from tourism, and Ghana should also capture and keep such financial gains to boost development and create wealth.
He described the meeting as important because the Expo’s outcomes need to connect with government policies run by the 24-Hour Economy Authority. He added that input from the secretariat is necessary to ensure the event’s success.
Besides the secretariat, the organisers are engaging key institutions including the Ghana Investment Promotion Authority, Ghana International Trade Commission, Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ghana Tourism Authority, and the Regional House of Chiefs.
Mr Treku said this collaboration aims to link tourism with the broader productive economy. He said it would show how tourism can contribute to investment, jobs, value-chain growth, and regional economic activity.
The Expo is scheduled for 21 to 23 October 2026 in Cape Coast. Its theme is “Positioning Ghana as a 24-Hour Investment Economy.” The event will gather more than 300 stakeholders, investors, government bodies, business leaders, and development partners to explore investment and economic opportunities.
Discussions will focus on sectors like agribusiness, digital sovereignty, and AfCFTA industrial acceleration within Ghana’s tourism agenda. The event will include presentations, an Investment Marketplace, deal flow opportunities, and B2B sessions allowing investors, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and industry players to meet directly.
The Inter Tourism Expo and Conference is an annual event designed to attract both local and international tourists to Ghana’s historical and cultural sites. It aims to generate sustained interest that brings funding into the country.
The organisers also want to enhance trade and agribusiness talks, linking local agriculture and AfCFTA-driven trade to investors. They plan to explore capital investments in technology, infrastructure, and emerging sectors.
Follow-up meetings are planned as part of the event’s organisation. The 24-Hour Economy Secretariat’s involvement signals government backing for the Expo’s goal to boost Ghana’s economy beyond traditional business hours.
